Mackle Snacks is a manufacturer of high-quality snack foods for brands across the world. They work on a private label basis for well-known high street food brands and have been happy to be the manufacturing heroes, working behind the scenes with little fanfare since 2005.
The team had seen an opportunity to create their first ever own-brand product when they were approached by a large supermarket chain to see if they could produce a new children’s snack range, especially for the Irish market. They had completed product development, and had a name, but needed our help to turn it into a unique brand with a fun packaging design theme which would compete on the shelves.
We worked with Stray Illustration to develop custom illustrations for the range, with cute cartoon animal parents seen introducing their children to the snacks.
The snacks initially launched as a test in all Aldi’s Irish stores, before expanding into Northern Ireland. The range has proved exceptionally popular, and has since been picked up by Lidl Ireland & Northern Ireland, and Dunnes Stores.
